I’m Gen. A forty something year old mum of five. Twice (very happily) divorced but, finally, in one of many plot twists I have found my forever human.
Four years ago, in a break from the usual dramatic flow of life, a disappointingly boring contrast to the drama I am accustomed to, a rather boring and common ailment stole my mobility leaving me ‘wheeling’ aimlessly through life.
‘Wheel life’ changed my perspective, and I don’t mean that I now generally speak to peoples crotches or backsides. It took so much from me, not just my mobility. It took my job, my ability to be a mum, my hobbies, my independence, and in the early days with heavy medication it took my cognitive function also. So, in my wisdom and chronic boredom I decided to take control of what I could. I drove the lovely nurses and doctors at the pain team insane with my mission to balance sufficient pain control with a clear mind. Then decided to become a mature student in creative writing. A new direction, a new focus and hopefully a new career.
Wheel Life Stories is where I aim to turn a life time of chaos and plot twists into literary gold (or silver or bronze, I’d settle for a participation certificate!). So, pull up a chair (I brought my own) and enjoy the ride. If nothing else, it wont be boring.
